ABOUT ME
My name is Edwin van Beek and I work as a 2D character-animator & Visual Artist for Feature Animation, Shorts & Themeparks. When being an artist in a small country like the Netherlands, you are a jack-of-all-trades, which is a lot of fun because all those things have one thing in common; you help create a story.
I've worked for many studios around the world, like on Nickelodeon's Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, LEGO'S Monkie Kid, Woezel & Pip, Bunuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles and Trippel Trappel.
I'm used to be part of large teams and know my way around the animation-pipeline. My main job is animating in lots of different styles, but I also work as a lay-out artist, storyboard artist, background painter (supervisor) and colorboard-artist. This way I learned a lot about the demands and needs of all the different animation departments.
For the themepark industry I work as a concept artist, creating lots of visuals, story-ideas, character designs and storyboards for rides and leisure environments.
When I'm not drawing, I watch (classic) movies, read about movies, read graphic novels and play a game or two...
